Thailand-based resort developers Destination Properties are selling their shuttle service in the Andaman to focus on real estate.
Seaplane shuffle company Destination Air, which offers non schedule three to four flights daily in their two Cessna Caravans, was the first air shuttle service between Phuket International Airport, Koh Phi Phi and other resort areas in the region.
The company is said to be in the final hours of sale completion, reported Phuket local news website phuketwan.com, although details of the buyer have not been disclosed. Flights have been grounded the past month so ensure a smooth hand over.
´´It was not our core business...We wanted to get back to basics," managing director Pat James said of the reason of the sale, as reported on the website.
Destination Air was launched in February 2007 and was the first air shuttle service in the Andaman region.
Based in Bangkok, Destination Properties are behind several projects in the area including the Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa, Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Ramada Resort Karon Beach, and various other Hilton projects.
