Liew Mun Leong, president and CEO of CapitaLand Group, has won Asiamoney’s “Best Executive in Singapore” award.

The magazine picked him for his “business acumen and keen understanding of the property market and sense of timing”, as published in its December 2008 issue.

“As evidence of his shrewdness, Liew and his executives foresaw the property market downturn and acted in timely fashion. The company was able to divest some of its more mature properties in
Singapore, China and Malaysia this year, and raised S$1.3 billion in the capital markets via a
convertible bond in February,” the magazine said.
